The further through this story you get, the more it boggles the mind. By the time I reached the end I felt like I had simultaneously gained some sort of inconceivable understanding yet been left with a profound feeling of loss and confusion. The more you learn about the bizarre goings on of this small town, the more it starts to bleed into your own reality. Reading this you don't feel like an outsider looking in on an unfamiliar place, rather someone who is somehow present for every happening, travelling in and out of a strange reality that you have always known. Revelations aside, I can easily say I have never encountered a story that has touched me quite so significantly as this.

So sad to have finished this series, It's been one hell of an emotional journey. I don't think I've ever felt so connected to a story before, this trilogy has made me want nothing more than to escape to a forest, as far away from my own thoughts as possible, which is frankly all I look for in a book. I know this tale will be on my mind for a while, until I'm ready to start it all over again.
