"Do not let your empathy stop at the borders of your own community."

For me I really enjoyed this story, it actually made me teary whilst I was listening to the audiobook. I thoroughly enjoyed the way that it is written in the third pov style and actually think it worked well for this story.

Honestly though, I feel so deeply for everyone who was affected by the racism during covid 19. I know this is a fictional story but it holds depth and such raw emotions. We were all living in such dark times, isolated times, yet still isolated so many people from humanity by showing hate and pain.

More about the book though lol. I think I found that it wasn't gorey enough, but also I am a gore / horror fanatic so those who are new to the genre may find this was gorey than my opinion.

I also want to mention that Cora Zeng suffers with OCD, and it was written excellently. I saw so much of myself in her, especially when I was struggling during the pandemic with my OCD and having to be clean at all times. I feel we all were in a way like this though.

The twists and turns were so good and so unexpected for me. I also feel like certain aspects/scenarios (I won't name as spoilers) were truly needed to help deliver this story.

I would definitely read more from Kylie Lee Baker. I read this as an audiobook!
