This was good but I'm not obsessed. I really liked the found family style cast of characters but didn't find myself invested in much of the story

How have you picked yours? Favourite books only? All 5⭐️ reads? Do you switch them out or keep them the same?

Mine are not necessarily all 5⭐️ reads and I have a hard time swapping them out but I do feel my current five represent me really well. I think adding a romance in there would probably round me out (First-Time Caller or Happy Place…)!

Here’s why I picked mine: Blood Over Bright Haven: Complex characters and impressive, intricate themes and planned story structure that makes me appreciate the craft that is writing!

Our Wives Under the Sea: Beautiful, poetic, dark writing with a lot of symbolism that I love to mull over and slowly devour.

Masters of Death: Comedic premise making way for a mind-altering, unexpectedly emotional payoff that makes me want to laugh and cry simultaneously as I wonder at how stories can be so impactful.

What Moves The Dead: Spooky, atmospheric and SMART! I love how books enable us to be spirited away to another realm, and also it’s a novella!

Assassin’s Quest: Epic fantasy series with wonderful world-building, character arcs and incredible writing that makes me feel like I’m sitting enthralled at a campfire as the author recites the story to me.

  • Bookish questions because I'm a nosy person

Hello again!🤗 Today I was thinking about how excited I am to do a year wrap up when the year ends (obviously 🤣) and I want to ask you the same questions I asked my self, so here they go: 1- What's your favorite book of the year so far? 2- Which book/books you were so hyped for but ended up being a disappointment? 3- Which new author/authors you found out this year and feel in love with? 4- Which book/books you thought you would give 1 star but ended up giving 4/5 stars? 5- How close are you to complete your reading challenge (if you have one)? I hope everyone has a nice weekend and thank you for letting be your very curious book friend 🤣🫶

  • August Wrap Up!

I read 19 books this month, and will be filming my wrap up later today. In the meantime, let me know how August went for you!

What did you read? Did you like it? What was the best/worst? Did you complete/work on any bookish challenges?

    Tell me everything.

Edit to add: Here's my full wrap up video, as well as my digital reading journal for August!
