Crossroads: where memoirs meet science
One of my favourite niche genres is when memoirs are mixed with science, (or the other way around!β books about science that incorporate parts of the authorβs life. Queer Mothering
For many (if not most) people, the term 'mother' feels deeply gendered and carries with it the weight of expectations. However, the queer community has long played with the meaning of 'mother,' from the mothers of ballroom culture to queer family-making to the intersection of mothering and trans parenthood. Mother is, after all, an identity like any other and as such it can be stretched, played with, inverted, and examined.
