One of my favourite niche genres is when memoirs are mixed with science, (or the other way around!— books about science that incorporate parts of the author’s life. The science also tends to be more accessible than in typical academic writing. So let’s read some books about people and their favourite science! P.S. please feel free to suggest more titles to add!

I enjoy this niche, too! Three suggestions: The Last Cold Place by Naira de Gracia is a memoir about studying penguins in Antarctica! How Far the Light Reaches by Sabrina Imbler combines memoir and aquatic biology. Sharks Don't Sink by Jasmin Graham is the memoir of a Black woman in shark science, a field dominated by white dudes (as so many are).
