you are a regular guy!
you can enter a space. you are a regular guy, you can enter a room. you are a regular guy, you can do that transaction. you are a regular guy, you know how to answer the phone. you are a regular guy, you know what sleep is. you are a regular guy, you know what it means to be you.
all of these books have regular people as the protagonist doing all sorts of things, from kissing to killing!
as always, open to all suggestions!

Science Fiction is not About the Future
Wait! What? If itโs not about spaceships and aliens and strange new worlds, what is sci-fi about?
Itโs about whatโs going on here, now, to usโ just like other genres. Setting the story centuries in the future is a way for the author to view our world from a different perspective. Which is cool. But not necessary.
Here are some sci-fi and speculative fiction works set in the authorโs own time. Some old, some new. Some not even sci-fi. But all will give you a new perspective on the world.

Cli-fi/Eco-Fiction
Fiction that deals with climate change. Books may take place in the world as we know it, in the near future, or in fictional worlds experiencing climate change.

Destruction and Creation - A Kaiju List
Kaiju books, graphic novels, and more! For the sake of the list not becoming a creature feature list, I am defining Kaiju as 'a creature that has never existed and whose presence alone can be a natural disaster'. So things like Jaws (a normal shark) and The Meg (a real creature that existed but we just didn't know was still around) won't be added.
The title is part of a Kaiju No. 8 quote - "Destruction and Creation - that's a kaiju's true nature"
