Recs if you like One Good Earl Deserves a Lover...

I started keeping a list on my phone every time I caught a character drooling over the love interest's forearms and now I am sharing my findings with the world! I shall continue to conduct this important groundbreaking research for the sake of all mankind . Looking for collaborators! If you find any mentions of sexy forearms in your books, I would love to add it!

Note: Inclusion in this list doesn't mean I loved the book, strangely, some of these books are my lowest rated reads. 🤷🏻‍♀️

romance books with well endowed MCs and their partner/s thinks it wont fit. spoiler: will it fit? answer is in the title 🙇‍♀️

having a big dick is not always a great thing but we love it when the owner is self-aware and takes care of their partner/s 🫡

big appendage 🤝 small hole

self care romance books in all forms: mutual, solo, IRL, video call, phone, overhearing, walking in on, public space, etc etc.

if you hate the word ‘masturbation’, try: flicking the bean, jerking off, finger banging, rub one out, beat the meat, dj the vj, wanking, jerkin the gherkin, fapping; we can go on for days. whatever you call it, i just hope you reach climax ⛰️ toys encouraged but a hand (or two or three or-) will do just fine.

Science! Math! Historical Romance featuring some scientifically minded ladies, STEM historical romance, women with interests/jobs/hobbies/ etc.

Romance novels where the hero... arrives… in his pants (usually while eating). If you know of other books, please share in the comments!

Romances with ticking clocks and clear time frames, about how this impacts conflict and makes books more breathless, and of course about the books that deploy this strategy perfectly. Inside, you'll find road trips and adventures, vacation romances and romantic suspense, house parties and that classic romance chestnut: "I have 30 days to get pregnant."

Every New Years Eve we tackle some of the more headphones-in stuff in the romance pool. Two years ago, that stuff was breeding kink. Mila Finelli AKA Joanna Shupe joined us to recommend some books.

In the episode, we start out giggling and then get serious as we try to get to the bottom of this very specific thing that seems to have had a recent resurgence in romance. We do patriarchy, body autonomy and heteronormativity, then get into the provenance of this particular romance trope.

List of books with numbers in the title.

Romance with main characters who wear glasses.

Yes, we all love a Stern Brunch Daddy, but what if that dominance is paired with a genius mind and a feeling that numbers never let you down? Below are not just grumpy-sunshine (though many are) or just Mr. Darcy in STEM (though a few are), or autistic-coded (almost all are). These are MMCs who seek peace through order and control. They have RULES for how things MUST go and wouldn't it be a shame if they set aside their ledgers for a good, hard frolic?

Historical Romance that brings the spice, the silliness, and ALL of the feels.

One of my favorite jokes about romance is that the most unrealistic aspect of them is that the men have friends.

These are romances where the male main character has close friends he talks to and banters with. These are often brothers, but sometimes they are more found family. They don’t have to be fellow men but they help round out who is and make him a better, more complete person. It’s catnip for me when they see his growing love for the other MC more clearly than he does.
