a (ongoing) sapphic masterlist! (600+ books!)
every struggled to find actual lesbian/sapphic books when at the library or bookstore? so did I!
bc of said struggle, I started to curate a personal list of books that either has lesbian MCs and/or featured a primary sapphic romance.
i haven't read all of these, but I do try my diligence in confirming that they meet the above perimeters, since many books claim to be sapphic when they're not. this is an ever updating list, only fiction for now!

Climate Fiction: Further reading
Constantly being updated!
Looking for the quest? >>> A Quest for the Future
Books from a wide variety of fiction genres that touch on climate themes in some way. Please bear in mind that while cli-fi can be hopeful, it also touches on a lot of difficult themes, so make sure to protect your mental health too.

Books About Books π
Bibliophilia at its best - books about books, readers, libraries, bookstores!

hopeful post-apocalypse
also known as βcozy catastrophes,β these are books that deal with a post-apocalyptic and/or dystopian world but are still hopeful, uplifting, or just leave you with more of a postive feeling!

Apocalyptic, But Make it Queer
Queer & trans stories in apocalyptic or post-apocalyptic worlds
First of a series only
Sister list to: Zombies, but make it Queer
As always, suggestions incredibly welcome!
β£
Note: Not specifically a list of good LGBTQ+ representation (though many of them absolutely are, and many are written by queer and/or trans authors!). But I haven't read all of them (yet), so this list doesn't inherently imply my recommendation, as such

We found love in a hopeless place
Dystopian matchmaking: romance and love stories that happen against all odds

the gay after tomorrow
literally just give me yearning at the end of the world
a definitely not exhaustive list of apocalypse books with queer characters
{ recommendations welcome }

The End & After - No Cis-Male Authors Allowed β£
If you ask someone what apocalyptic or post-apocalyptic fiction they've read, there's a fair chance much of that list will have been written by cis men, because they're the books that get the most promotion in the genre.
My hope is that this list will help someone find a new favourite author! β‘
Sister list to: Zombie Apocs - No Cis-Male Authors Allowed
First of a series only
Suggestions so welcome, particularly for trans, enby, & other authors of marginalised genders

sapphics in the apocalypse
adult and young adult books about queer women/girls surviving in apocalyptic dystopias (zombies, viruses, disasters, evil governments, etc.) because even the end of the world wouldnβt stop me from being super gay.

New Sapphics
books that as far as I know are sapphic in some way, that have come out either last year, this year, or next year

for the lesbians, sapphics and nmlnm <3
"i do it for the girls and the gays, that's it"

Post-Apocalyptic Sapphics
Sapphic stories set right as or right after or after or long after the shit hit the fan.

dystopian & dystopian fantasy
"an imagined world or society in which there is great suffering or injustice, typically one that is totalitarian or post-apocalyptic. many of the people lead dehumanized and fearful lives"

Found Family at the End of the World (And After)
Apocalyptic reads with a big focus on found family. This list meshes all kinds of apocalypses, zombies included.
Recommendations extremely welcome - gimme alllll the found families surviving together! π
First of a series only, except in cases where it's further into the series that the found family element really kicks in.
My favourites are the top half of the list, if you want a place to start ;) (There's a few at the very bottom that I haven't yet read myself, so no shade to them!!)

Always here, always Queer π
Look at us through every step of History, on every continent and every shape. From distant past to looming future, queer people have been, are, and will be.
