in honor of disability pride month, here is a series on the colours of the flag! our second colour on the disability pride flag is blue, which represents psychiatric disabilities and mental illnesses. numerous examples of those include bipolar disorder, depression, general anxiety disorder, PTSD, PMDD, selective mutism, dissociative identity disorder, and many more. books within this list series will be both fiction and non-fiction literature. as always, feel free to recommend any books!

list inspired by the one church lady who asked me what i was reading a few years back, then was shocked and appalled when i showed her The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires. this is all for you maam🫡

Autumn Hill is a Prairieland Defendant, sentenced to 50 years in prison for protesting outside of an ICE detention facility, in a move intended to quell all political dissent. To support her, she says “send me more messy gay fiction” especially by queer authors of color!

Books should be paperbacks, purchased new and sent directly from Amazon, and addressed to:

Johnson County Jail, TX Cameron Arnold, 202502023 P.O. Box 247 Phoenix, MD 21131

Suggestions very welcome! 🫶🏽 More info in comments!

AMOR❤️ A collection of romance books by Latinx authors. Includes all types of romance (fantasy, gothic, YA, adult, contemporary, lgbtq+, etc.).

I chose not to display multiple books from the same author and also picked the first in the "series" (if applicable) only. This is to introduce you to the author and the series, that way you can look into each further if you'd like! 🥰

These are more of the popular ones I found from my research so I am always open to suggestions!

Queer young adult contemporary romance books

P.s I've read some of these way before I started logging them into book trackers.

Books by queer Chicano/a/x authors

One stop shop for me-approved queer books (not a very long list, but soon it will be 💫| kinda YA coded, since I've only recently graduated from YA to NA)
