audiobooks where the narrator is the author! any book goes, no matter the genre. there may be multiple versions of the audiobook, but at least one version has the author as narrator. please suggest more in the comments!

I’m an audiobook lover, and I’m always looking for great audiobooks! Rather than just listing my favorites, I thought I’d make a list of audiobooks that have won Audie Awards from 2021-2026.

There are so many, so I stuck to specific categories. Not all categories are in all years, so there is some inconsistency. I included the following categories:

For a long time, memoirs have been focused on the experience of men, in particular white men. Here is a list of various kinds of memoirs by black women to empower those voices that are often silenced :)

For all of us who feel they’re “behind” because they don’t have their life figured out. Looking at biographies of people who’ve “made it” some way or other, the exciting part often starts later, at age 30, 40, 50… !!

as someone who reads primarily fiction, these books stunned me with their mix of emotion and information. there are also books in this list that, while i haven’t read yet, i’ve heard amazing things about! i think everyone should read a bit of nonfiction to learn about the world around them.
