Literally fruity queers๐๐๐๐๐
A list collating queer fiction with heavy fruit symbolism. The thematic usage of fruit in queer fiction is traced back to Florida Fruit Citrus Commission spokeswoman Anita Bryant, who fought hard to repeal gay rights and spread homophobic disinformation. Queer literature in the years after reclaimed the orange as a symbol of queer love and joy, and this has since expanded to other fruits. Disclaimer: I've read a few books on this list and am hoping to get through all of them!

Donโt forget the T
Thereโs now LGB without the T and I want to celebrate and uplift Trans authors! Letโs also remember how much the Trans community has done for the queer community as a whole and uplift their stories year round, not just during pride month.

Queer Muslim Characters and People
Happy Ramadan! We've put together a list of our favorite books that include Muslim queerness - some fiction, some non-fiction. (This list is presented by Duck Prints Press, the indie publisher focused on publishing queer art and stories by queer creators! A group of us collaborate to make these recommendations.)

Diverse Baseline Challenge
These Diverse Baseline Challenge was created by @bookish.millennial & @themargherita.s (on instagram). In 2025, the goal is to read 1 book by a racialized author each month. This challenge is meant to encourage readers to try genres they historically donโt reach for, find new-to-them racialized authors, and to encourage reflection on our reading habits.
This is a mix of recommendations by the challenge organizers and myself.
