Tana lives in a world where walled cities called Coldtowns exist. In them, quarantined monsters and humans mingle in a decadently bloody mix of predator and prey. The only problem is, once you pass through Coldtown's gates, you can never leave. One morning, after a perfectly ordinary party, Tana wakes up surrounded by corpses. The only other survivors of this massacre are her exasperatingly endearing ex-boyfriend, infected and on the edge, and a mysterious boy burdened with a terrible secret. Shaken and determined, Tana enters a race against the clock to save the three of them the only way she knows how: by going straight to the wicked, opulent heart of Coldtown itself. The Coldest Girl in Coldtown is a wholly original story of rage and revenge, of guilt and horror, and of love and loathing from bestselling and acclaimed author Holly Black.

Opinions:
1. Where can I find my Gavriel he was the perfect character to accompany Tara.
2.How does she get the loyalty and betrayal of all those people so fast?
3. Holly Black did an amazing job at bring the 2st century aspects to the novel.
3.75/5 Unique Vampire world building - Although a standalone, the world felt vast in its contained setting. It felt fleshed out and expansive. I've always been picky with female protagonists, because often when I was an actual teenager reading YA, these characters either felt whiney or too much of a mary sue, but that perspective was also likely heavily tied to my insecure "Not like other girls" persona. Regardless, I liked Tana - she was bold, interesting, scared, all that good human shit. I also really loved all the relationship dynamics. The ex-boyfriend, the new vampire boy, alt teens, etc. The one thing that I didn't love was the climax - it was interesting, and made sense and relatively satisfying, but maybe not all that exciting. I like the ending tho :)
