Recs if you like Fallen...

Allow me to set the scene:

It’s 2 AM on a school night but you only have 100 pages left. You will power through. Forget the math test you have first period. This is your priority. And you must know how the book ends.

I don’t know what sort of millennial catnip these 2000s YA authors put in these books, but let me tell you, my “baby millennial” self was addicted.

Pagebound Millennials: what YA were you reading?

the staples of the book community on youtube in the early to mid 2010s.

Books that were adapted into movies (not tv shows). Let's make this list as long as possible!

(going to only add the first book in a series)

A roundup of YA books that were popular back in the days of us baby millennials. For anyone feeling nostalgic for the 2010’s. Draw a little mustache on your finger because you’re so quirky and get reading like you already finished your homework for the night!

Based on my favorite podcast Rereading the Revolution. The hosts reread and recap popular 2000s-2010s novels from Divergent to Looking for Alaska.

The list is in order of oldest episodes to most recent. I will try and update when new episodes drop.

So take a walk down memory lane with these nostalgic picks, or find something new that sparks your inner teenager! Please give the podcast a listen, I think they’re a great bookish podcast to support

a collection of books that were all the rage in the early 2010s

And baby, you KNOW these are problematic 🌚

When I say mid-00's I cannot stress enough that I am going on vibe alone. The actual publication date (or status as a YA book) matters way less than the fact that I, a teen in the mid-00s, consumed many of these titles.

Recommendations welcome! They don't have to have aged poorly for me to add them in, but boy it sure happens to have shaken out that way!

The first book in a series.

syllabus for the eager scholars of rereading the revolution aka the books that shaped teenagers from 2005 to 2015 (based on the books read & discussed on the podcast by Kellie & Daphne – regular episodes, without bonus )

best sellers and other peak books from middle school era for those of us that aren't quite millennials but are also definitely not core gen z

a list about those peak years (2010's decade) and (most) of the books that introduced me (us) to reading

*** disclaimer **** I'm deliberately leaving some of the books out of this list because I don't feel like supporting them putting their books here (if I missed someone who shoulnd't be here let me know!!)

The best fiction you can find on Vampires and Werewolves and Witches. Feel free to recommend books for this list in comments section.

The OG reads from 2010s, iykyk.

Because realistically what else can you do to pass the time when you’re a vampire? Eternity is a longgggggg time.

Brings tears to my eyes whenever I remember these books

It’s middle school again and you just went to the library little alternative kid 🖤

throwback to the reads that had us on a chokehold back in the day. i'm talking about vampires, werewolves, dystopians, etc.

ps. this is just from what i remember. please let me know if i'm missing any :) or comment what books you loved back in the day, and i'll add it!
