0 0There's dual POVs which was entirely new for Kerstin Gier, but much needed for this particular adventure. For this I would’ve wanted a third person narrator though, the first person switch from chapter to chapter was a bit confusing and not the best style choice in my opinion. There's a lot more cursing going on than in her previous YA books and I love where this is going.
Quinn being half-Japanese was very needed tbh, it was way past time the characters in her books got more diverse. If I didn't imagine things, Julie is also a black woman, so a little step towards diversity. Also the magic and fantasy elements got right into my brain, where it found connections to Rubinrot and Silber - I love a good interconnecting universe with different stories. It opens up so many possibilities. Excited to see where this goes in the next book.
