Recs if you like The Grimoire Grammar School Parent Teacher Association...

You liked Harry Potter but you’re angry at the author for being a huge transphobe and you would like some alternatives because you don’t want to give money to her so she can finance transphobia and you have enough of Harry Potter’s racist stereotypes like Cho Chang and other problematic themes in this saga? You’re in the right place! I haven’t read all, if some are misplaced, let me know! Also, if you want more fantasy recs, I have a queer fantasy list! It is addressed to different ages.

books featuring or set in magic schools / universities / academies, aka, one of the best subgenres in existence !

this list has books for all ages (am actively looking for more adult options), most of the books are dark academia, and ALL of them are fantastical 🪄 recs welcome <3

(alternatively, books to fall in love with & share with others to help avoid supporting or promoting JKR. i will never shut up ab how the Nevermoor series deserves the popularity that Harry Potter enjoys !)

All sorts of magic including - Wizards, warlocks, druids, alchemists, etc…

I took a very large take, and I hope you’ll enjoy!! 😊

For series, I only put the first book.

Recommendations are very welcome!! 🥰

Bibliophilia at its best - books about books, readers, libraries, bookstores!

At the request of @moss-mylk 😊🫶 I will keep updating this list, and as always, recs are welcome.

Enjoy reading fantasy but feel stuck in a rut of political intrigue and heavy world building? Take a breather and enjoy the roses in a cozy, whimsical world.

books that just feel like a warm hug after a long day, but don't have romance subplots :) funny, cute, engaging - they have it all. but no kissing (forehead kisses are always welcomed, of course)

Cozy and heartwarming reads - literary hug on a chilly day <3

"an aesthetic that celebrates intellectual pursuits, literature, and art with an optimistic, airy and cozy vibe"

cozy fantasy reads

Books about women struggling with their place in society, society’s expectations of them. Some have humor to them, most are of a darker tilt.

My list of fall reads for 2026; mix of spooky/horror and cozy vibes for fall

Fiction books that outright tackle misogyny, or have feminist undertones. For every reader out there who's tired of being met with toxic/misogynist behaviour in stories that is presented as acceptable, or even romantic, and those who want to learn about the female perspective. (For more horrory books, see my list "Feminist Horror", for YA, see my list "Feminist YA".)

My most anticipated new releases for 2025. I will add as I discover them!!

a list of cozy, easy-to-read, fuzzy-feeling fantasy/supernatural/omegaverse books that take you away from the real world when your heart feels achey & like it needs to be pieced back together <3 <3 <3
