These middle grade series may not have seven movies, a TV show, and a literal theme park dedicated to them, but they sure deserve it! Especially because they weren't written by JKR. All recommended by Pagebound users, and suggestions are always always welcome -- middle grade fantasy/mystery series-starters only, please! I was recently rereading a book I loved when I was 13 expecting it to be terrible and simple, and I found that I actually still liked it so I decided to make this list!! Recommendations are welcome, this will be a running list xx

YA fiction retelling, inspired by, and about fairy tales, published for teens between 1990 and 2009.

These are works with siblings (borthers/sisters) as its protagonist and heart of the story. Don't need to necessary be blood related or in good term. It can be rivalry, as long as the story have siblinghood as one of the theme. The siblings need to be a fully-fleshed character, not background character and—weird that I need to clarify it—NOT A FUCKING INCEST 🔪
