Loveless

The more i read of Oseman's work, the more i see how much of it is a fantasy. I mostly wanted to just smack Georgia and tell her how lucky she is to have friends who are loving and forgiving when she is a very selfish person.

This will definitely be on my top 3
I really love all the characters ( especially Ronney), theirs development ...
The story was well writing, some scenes were really touching and i can relate to Georgia.

I really enjoyed this but I wish I'd read it when I was questioning because it would've saved a lot of time. This book was also just really validating and relatable

‘Says who?’ Rooney spluttered, smacking her hand on the ground in front of us. ‘The heteronormative rulebook? Fuck that, Georgia. Fuck that.’

It is a beautiful story , true, and for some too personal but it remains ONE story.
To believe that a single experience can tell you everything about two large umbrellas is wrong and even dangerous.
So keep this in mind when you read: you will learn about asexuals and aromantics but you will not know all.

Loveless non è perfetto.
Per certi versi non è neanche un libro eccezionale.
Eppure questo passa in secondo piano se pensiamo che per la prima volta molte persone si sono sentite rappresentate.
È un merito che va sottolineato così come il fatto che grazie alla fama della Oseman, raggiungerà molte più persone di quanto abbiano fatto altri libri.
Quindi più persone finalmente entreranno in contatto con un personaggio principale asessuale e aromatico, in un libro in cui si parla effettivamente dell'argomento.
E questo è il secondo merito del libro: quello di dare maggiore visibilità alla comunità e di informare le persone.
Ma bisogna stare attenti.
È una storia bella, vera e per alcuni troppo personale ma rimane UNA storia.
Credere che una singola esperienza possa dirci tutto su due così grandi ombrelli, è sbagliato e anche pericoloso.
Quindi tenete in mente questo quando leggerete: imparerete qualcosa sull'assessualità e sull'aromanticismo ma non avrete un quadro complessivo.
