Thank you to Netgalley & Random House Publishing for an ARC of this book in exchange for feedback.

This is the second book by JP Delaney I’ve read and while I do enjoy his works I was a little hesitant to start this because it seemed to have a very sci-fi edge to it. While the books main character is a robot this book is NOT sci-fi.

The book is compulsively readable. It does help that the chapters are very short (some are only a paragraph) so it’s very hard to find the right place to put the book down. Also Delaney has a way of writing so it’s hard to distinguish which characters are good or bad. Factor in the “AI” aspect of the book and you may almost begin to question what humanity really means.

If you enjoy reading thrillers that are not predicable then this is a great book for you because you’ll think you have it figured out halfway through and when the last page comes you’ll probably have a pretty significant book hangover.
