This was really cute! Light and easy and charming rom com. It has a pretty preposterous premise of a romance author going on a honeymoon (to which her best friend, ex-fiance, and ex-friend all somehow show up) where she just so happens to meet a movie star who is even better off screen than on... So it's a wonderfully ridiculously unrealistic read. Lila is pretty funny and a solid mess, but I do wish Freddie also had a bit more depth beyond just being perfection personified. I think there was only one or two moments where he demonstrated any character flaws, and I think it would have added to the story to have him also experiencing some kind of struggle or growth for them to come together over, as opposed to him just magically being exactly what Lila needs at any given moment. Another small thing that bugged me was the way Lila described her best friend always seemed to be fairly judgemental and full of backhanded compliments and envy - I expected there to ultimately be some sort of conflict or further exploration of their friendship but was surprised when the narrative maintained that they were the bestest of friends and had nothing but adoration for one another.
