Horror books were cameras and journals may be all that remain

I can't be the only one who want to remember all the books without jumping around in a video, right?

for this list, i am specifically looking into creating an extensive list of novels whose narratives center in some way film as an art or an industry. these are fictional explorations of what it means to make, love, fear, consume, be consumed by cinema.

Books about haunted or cursed films, books, websites, etc

analogue horror, vhs, cult films, occult objects, static, exploitation, found footage, snuff

Created from the list on Goodreads by Cybil and Sadie Hartmann (September 29, 2025)

Slasher - a subgenre of horror involving a killer or a group of killers stalking and murdering a group of people, often by use of bladed or sharp tools.

This is a big list of (almost) all slasher books (only first books in a series). As long as there is a killer(s), victims and blood, it counts!

My best friend's cousin's neighbor's classmate has seen it -- it's real, I swear!

This list is for horror fiction lovers who are also movie lovers. If you like to spend your spooky season binge-watching classic horror movies, bloody slashers with high body counts, and films where the hunter becomes the hunted… these books are for you.
