If you are taking suggestions, I have two: The Word for World Is Forest by Ursula K. LeGuin (a classic science fiction allegory about colonization, it made me cry) and I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness by Claire Vaye Watkins (a messy autofiction about postpartum depression and the author's father's weirdly close connection with Charles Manson).

I love this idea! I saw you’re taking suggestions so if may I add “They Can’t Kill Us Until They Kill Us” by Hanif Abdurraqib! it’s a great nonfiction book exploring music, pop culture, and race, and I love recommending it to anyone and everyone
