Recs if you like The Chromatic Fantasy...

Reading suggestions for the Trans Rights Readathon! (Any year of course). Books with trans characters of any label (or any non-cis gender identity) by trans/non-cis authors. I have not read all the books in this list. Feel free to name your fave books by trans authors in the comments!

Book covers with typography oriented in non-standard alignments, instead of the typical horizontal + left to right text alignment. Or: graphic design is my passion, and today we are learning about text paths 🙂‍↕️. This is an immensely silly List, and always open to suggestions—vertical text, circular, upside down, anything goes!

LGBT*+ graphic novels / comics / manga +

Fluff to smut, including 18+ etc aka not exclusive to anything specific other than being queer content (queer & queer-rep inclusive stories). I have read a good handful of the ones now at the bottom of the list. Includes intended middle-grade-ish-level youth content to adult audience content.

In progress / updated over time. Mostly serving as an all-in-one-spot list until Pagebound figures something out that works well for multi-genre/format exploration. :)

(recs highly welcome) Attempting a highly exhaustive list.

Whether it be bizarre or whimsical: parallel realities, alternate timelines, and strange worlds illustrated. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

Stories with t4t (trans4trans) dynamics across genders, genres, and age groups, mostly indie. Includes graphic novels and all kinds of trans and non-binary identities. Includes erotica 🔞

Recommendations welcome!

✦ I have not read all of these books - if you notice anything that seems to be mis-labeled/mis-placed on this list, please let me know! ✦

Books ranging in genres from litfic to fantasy to horror, all with one thing in common: trans people being a little (or a lot) unhinged.

Romantasy and romantic/erotic fantasy reads starring queer characters! (Recs are welcome, but I'd like to encourage uplifting queer authors first and foremost! For series, I'll just put book 1 unless they can be read as standalones!)

I have spent years curating a list of graphic novels for myself on goodreads and I thought this place would be great to share it and share my love for graphic novels. I’m not picky about the plot or topics of the graphic novels I read so the list is pretty much any graphic novel I have heard of regardless of topic. Many are middle grade or young adult as is the general trend of the format but recommendations for more (especially adult) would be greatly appreciated.

Also manga is not included.

Weird, unusual or trippy queer graphic novels. Most of these also have unique illustrations

Including romantic fantasy and fantasy romance GNs for ease. Please note that this list includes a mix of age demographics and tone/subgenre, so please check content warnings if needed.

Novels, novellas, and short stories (and the occasional comic) featuring trans characters (including non-binary and all terms under the umbrella), written by indie authors. All genres, but many lean erotic and/or horror 🔞

Recommendations welcome!
