I just finished Squire and there wasn’t anything queer in it?? (At least not explicitly. But even as someone who reads way too much into things to find queer stuff, there’s really not much of any romance of any sort in this book)

hello! thanks for letting me know, maybe i have mixed up the things i remember from squire with another book but i had thought that the main character showed some signs of being queer even if she may not have had a love interest. though i trust your judgement since it's definitely more recent and i'll take it off the list! ❤️
Squire definitely feels queer even if there isn't an explicitly lgbtq character in it. Iirc at least one of the authors is queer, too, but don't quote me on that!
Edit: just looked it up, Nadia Shammas is queer! So it might have ended up on "queer lit" lists on that merit alone!

oh that makes so much sense thank you! i realized i read squire from the queer liberation library so that's probably how i thought it was queer
