Much of the post/apoc genre is taken up by US-centric fiction, giving a very specific mindset & often a similar type of apocalypse. There's a strong focus on guns & military. Settings outside the US can provide us with unusual, diverse & interesting stories of survival

I have not read almost any of these, so sorry if a lot of these aren’t that good lol. There seem to be very few quintessential nautical horror books, but a whole lot of possibly middling ones.

Some monsters are so large they do not live in the sea; they ARE the sea. These are the ancient deities of the trench, the guardians of the underwater ruins, and the serpents that encircle the world. When they roll over in their sleep, the tsunamis follow. They are the law of the salt and the lords of the foam. We call them... the Tide-Lords

Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" is one of my favorite series. It's heavily flawed, involves an incredible amount of Stephen King books that aren't labeled as "Dark Tower book", and it's soooooo many pages. (But I love it.) This list is made up of non-King books referenced in, or have parallel narratives/themes to. It's also just a great set of books.
