Books that are part memoir part another genre: in a way that blends multiple mediums and/or themes in unique and engaging ways. Magical, explosive and memorable narratives expressed with creativity and depth. Books that inspire me to write more.

Philosophical, creative and social justice themes. Decolonization focused.

Considering statues, museums, journalism, books, etc. with nuance and depth.

Books to fill the gaping voids made by our school systems.

Examining concepts of race, class, culture, ethnicity, colourism, separatism, belonging, supremacy, identity, & the effects of British colonialism.

Some books have these themes incidentally, but in most they are the core focus.
