“… I just…needed more time with her, you know? Like, it wasn’t enough. I needed more…” “More?” He cocked a brow. “More of what, Johnny?” “More of her,” I replied glumly. “It’s all more when it comes to her.” I shook my head and sighed heavily. “I want her so f- bad I can’t think straight, Gibs.” Y’all I can’t with Johnny 🫠
The way Johnny is obsessed with Shannon is so cute!! 😍

I wanted so badly to give this 5 stars… and I just couldn’t. Note to authors everywhere: please stop making “tiny” the only personality trait of MFCs. Not to mention, the way Shannon is described - she can’t get up on a barstool? - honestly made me picture my 3 year old daughter. Who, actually, can get up on a bar stool. I get she’s supposed to be stunted and petite and the trauma causes her to throw up but if I read “tiny” one more time I was going to explode.
“Hi, Johnny.” “Hi, Shannon,” I was not at all prepared for the emotional rollercoaster I was going to experience throughout the book. I laughed, I cried, I squealed, I wanted to throw the book against the wall. I felt all the feels. Shannon, ugh i just want to hug her and save her from her troubles and Johnny, is the best bulldozer “friend” anyone could ask for. Favorite Quotes: “I have allergies. Me too. To a- and b-, now, tell me who made you cry and I’ll fix it.” “Now, who wants to call my girlfriend a w- to my face?” “Who are you?” “I’m Johnny. Who are you?” “Shannon, like the river,” “Because she was addictive. And I was obsessed.” “I’m doing the math here, Shannon, and two plus two equals a bad b-.” “I just wanted her. For keeps.” “She makes my heart go, like, whoa. Is that right? So bad, Da. Boom, boom, f- boom. All the time.” “Stay. Stay with me, Shannon. I can keep you safe…” 4.5⭐️
