Recs if you like The Art of Saving the World...

Basically, a huge list of every book I ever heard features sapphic characters.

I have not read all of these, so I cannot be sure of the amount of the time on page of the sapphic characters or of the quality of the books.

Some of these I do not plan to read at all, since they are not my style. If you feel like a book doesn't belong here, let me know.

For my favs / read, check out my other lists & shelves.

Open to suggestions for more titles.

Don't shoot the messenger.

list inspired by the one church lady who asked me what i was reading a few years back, then was shocked and appalled when i showed her The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires. this is all for you maam🫡

Ace spectrum representation in fiction! We've got a little of everything - aroace, grayace, demi...my main condition for this list is that the ace character has to explicitly be asexual.

Recommendations welcome!

canon and coded autistic characters

Novels with Asexual Representation geared towards Middle Grade and Young Adult

All of these are from the list that Texas lawmaker Matt Krause in October of 2021 tried and in many cases succeeded to get banned from classrooms and school libraries. There are quite a few interesting and odd choices in there which is part of why I wanted to share this list on here. Not necessarily recommendations but there are some pretty good books on here. As well as a lot of textbooks

In October 2021, Texas State Representative Matt Krause initiated an inquiry targeting a list of approximately 850 books in Texas public schools, alleging they could cause "discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress" regarding race or sex. The list disproportionately targeted LGBTQ+ topics, race/racism, and sex education.

This is my project to read through this list for myself - utilizing my local library system for access to these titles. Follow the journey or join along!

Speculative fiction books with autistic characters, or by openly autistic identifying authors, as put together by Ada Hoffmann from 2011 to 2023 - plus Hoffmann herself, who's also autistic. For books I couldn't find, see comments! If you can add books to GR to add them here, you're welcome to do so (and tell me so I add them to this list)!
