Welcome to Derry, Maine ... It’s a small city, a place as hauntingly familiar as your own hometown. Only in Derry the haunting is real ... I give this a 1.5 star rating. and the only reason it got more than one stars is because I save my 1 star ratings for DNF books. The only reason that this wasn't a DNF is probably that I was buddy reading it.
I was literally only here for Pennywise. I was hoping for more page time with my favorite clown, but that didn't happen.
So this is generally what people point to when people discuss King's inability to handle endings, or some of his more outlandish and drug fueled moments. These are both valid criticisms! The jounrey through the book however, is very compelling and despite many of the "men writing women" moments, it's still a worthwhile read if you wish to explore the ouevre of King.
