In the captivating and small town of Willow Hills is where I chose to make a fresh start. I’m an artist, you know. But instead, I run into a familiar face from college days and he’s a bad boy billionaire. I barely recognize Raymer from the tattoos and ear piercing. And he’s commissioned ME to create art pieces for his new lounge and café venture. On top of that, I didn’t know he used to date my roommate. I would have found my way home that rainy night instead of under his umbrella. I’m falling into his arms at the same time as another clap of thunder sounds in the sky. Everything is happening so fast. I’m sure he didn’t plan to manage his parents’ ranch, open a lounge and café AND beg a small town girl to love him.

When Raymer and Valerie first met, there were instant sparks between the two of them. Valerie finds out later from her roommate, Vanessa, that Raymer is the ex who broke her she follows girl code and breaks it off with him. Raymer is stunned because he wasn't even aware that they knew each other and realizes that he has treated people badly in the past. He wants to change and doesn't know if she will ever give him a second chance.
That second chance is even further complicated when one of Raymer's exes, Florence, returns to town and sets her sights on getting him back. He wants nothing to do with her, but she's not willing to take "no" for an answer. There is plenty of angst and it's not clear that anyone is ever going to get a happily ever after for quite a while (relax, it does happen!!).
