One and Done Fantasy
Standalone fantasy books that won't make you invest your life in a dozen installments

a (ongoing) sapphic masterlist! (600+ books!)
every struggled to find actual lesbian/sapphic books when at the library or bookstore? so did I!
bc of said struggle, I started to curate a personal list of books that either has lesbian MCs and/or featured a primary sapphic romance.
i haven't read all of these, but I do try my diligence in confirming that they meet the above perimeters, since many books claim to be sapphic when they're not. this is an ever updating list, only fiction for now!

break glass in case of autism diagnosis
a collection of autistic coded characters in fiction [ recommendations welcome! ]

an ongoing sapphic masterlist of books (1600+)
in progress
Basically, a huge list of every book I ever heard features sapphic characters.
I have not read all of these, so I cannot be sure of the amount of the time on page of the sapphic characters or of the quality of the books.
Some of these I do not plan to read at all, since they are not my style. If you feel like a book doesn't belong here, let me know.
For my favs / read, check out my other lists & shelves.
Open to suggestions for more titles.
Don't shoot the messenger.

Gaslight, gatekeep, girlboss (sci-fi & fantasy)
Suggestions always welcome in the pursuit of women's rights and women's wrongs! For the terrible women in science fiction and fantasy who are gaslighting, gatekeeping, and girlbossing their way to the top, using any and all tools at their disposalโthe more war crimes, the better. These women are generally characterized as ruthless, cunning, scheming, manipulative, and as all around horrible people.

hungry women
these books use (literal) hunger as a political tool to speak to womenโs oppression, repression and desire, whether through overt cannibal metaphor, speculative dispatches, or more subtle nuances of appetite in literary fiction. these women are hungry for something more, whether theyโre allowed to act on it or not.
recommendations welcome!

Butches In Literature
Another resource for those looking for butches in books.
Disclaimer: I do not necessarily recommend all of these books. Please check out my page for reviews of the ones Iโve read!

Books that feel like an A24 film
Books that are atmospheric, emotionally unsettling, beautifully written, a little weird, and linger long after you finish them.

Books About Books ๐
Bibliophilia at its best - books about books, readers, libraries, bookstores!

queer BIPOC spec fic
Some books I either love or am super excited to read that are queer, BIPOC, and have some kind of speculative element (fantasy, sci fi, paranormal, etc)

Get in witch, weโre going to the library ๐
Maybe the people are magical, maybe the library is. Maybe these arenโt as fictional as they seem.
Recommendations encouraged!

Autism Rep by Autistic Authors | Adult Books
Adult books written by autistic authors that include autistic characters, usually as the protagonists of the story. You know they'll get the representation right!

no animals harmed in the making of this horror
A collection of horror books without animal death/cruelty since it is prevalent in the genre! These books will avoid graphic scenes with animals and cruelty. Animal bones may be present, let me know if you need to know which ones. Suggestions welcome and if I am mistaken about the content let me know and I will remove!

One Book Many Quests
Books in this list are in at least two quests. Thus helping to earn more badges. Books will span different genres. Once I scan through all the quests, I plan to further organize the list. I am thinking of creating a seperate list and moving the books with three or more quests to the new list and keeping the two badge books in this list. Are there other ways you would organize a list this big?

Sapphic Fantasy & Horror
Dragons, vampires, fae, and the gays.

scary, spacy & spellbinding (200-300 pages)
Short-ish (& sometimes spicy) standalone speculative stories.

Asian horror
Horror stories (in all of its forms/subgenres) from Asian authors!
Recs welcome!

magical book spaces
fantasical libraries and whimsical bookshops, these books add a magical charm to familiar bookish places

Lovable Liars
Requirements:
The Mc(s) is a tricksters or unreliable narrator who spends most of the book lying to, bluffing or otherwise misleading others or themselves.
They would continue lying even if they didnโt have to either they canโt help it or enjoy the game too much.
This causes situations that get unpredictable, chaotic or even completely ridiculous as the characters dodge or face consequences for their actions.

Great expectationsโฆor not
Subverting expectations and getting meta in the genre sandbox! Books that play with genre, subvert the traditional, switch things up with language and form, offer a new angle for a retelling, or mash and mix things up before spitting out a brand new tale. Includes works that are mainstream now but were considered a subversion of the familiar in the time period in which they were published. Suggestions always welcome!
