The Devourers

3.75 — this was rec’d to me as something written like the spear cuts through water. I can agree with, it switches between narrative styles and has the metaphorical, gritty writing. And has a story within a story. I have a lot of mixed feelings about some of the plot points but something I really connected with were the gender discussions and trans allegories used with how the shape shifters have their first and second selves. Interesting and this is one I’ll probably be thinking about for a while.
