Growing up I didn't read or know a lot of books from Australian Authors. Now living here, I am discovering a lot of amazing stories and authors. 🇦🇺❤️ Here are some of the ones I have uncovered. 🦘

All about books, bookstores, bookshops, bookclubs, libraries, writers, readers - All things Books! Books! Books!

Non-fiction books about linguistics and fiction which relates to linguistics in some way (disclaimer: some connections are looser than others and I have not read all of these books)

Books that all take place in Oxford

Books about books because there are never enough books

A syllabus of fabricated expertise; (un)required reading for fictional studies. A list of Guides, Research and Case Studies from imagined worlds.

The stories of historical women told from a feminist perspective. Some based in reality, some based in what could have been, all powerful. These women remind you to claim your power and step into your potential, no matter what time period you're living in.

It’s like academia vibes but not always but like just always in an Oxford setting because somehow my favorite books take place there. (idk if that makes sense lol)

Britta Bohler, an Austrian booktuber who solely posts on books written by women, made a list of 1001 books to read before you die written by only by female authors ,as a response to all the lists that were being released at the time by critically acclaimed sources and included in the list about 70-90% male authors. This is me slowly reading that list.

Tears are meant to be shed if it is but to give your heart an outlet to feel the emotions you're not meant to just keep. These are the books I share to you that means a lot to me, from one reader to another. ❤️

I have shed my tears for these characters and the people they represent. I lost myself for a brief moment as I read them and received great relief - that to cry for someone, something, else makes me feel human. ❤️

I love a good historical fiction novel, and sometimes the ones based on a real event, person, or disaster really bring out those human emotions we deserve to simmer in for a bit. From heartache and heroism to life and loss, these novels take the reader on a journey and lead them through all sorts of emotions along the way. More novels will be added to this list as I read them, and I am always on the look out for more historical fiction recommendations.
