Books don't just sit on shelves and these novels show it. Each one is its own love letter to the importance of stories in every corner of human life, built on the belief that the right book, in the right hands, at the right moment, can change the entire shape of a life. (Always taking recommendations!)

While books are at the heart of this list, storytelling itself is the soul of it. Not every culture has centered on written word as its primary way of passing down wisdom, memory, and love - and I wanted to honor that in this list. Some titles here celebrate recipes passed between women, oral histories carried across generations, or letters exchanged in place of novels. The medium may differ, but the human need to tell and be told stories never does.
I'd like to suggest Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen :) Love all the lists you're creating today! Banger after banger!
Adding now! And thank you! There is a glitch on android so I can't scroll my shelves, so I figured this was the push I needed to finally publish the lists I have been stewing over making haha
I'm so glad I'm not the only one suffering from that bug. I did not realize how much I used my shelves.
Same! But I saw a note from JenniferPagebound saying it's a known bug AND they are working on it
