Recs if you like Swallow Your Pride (The Carlson Brothers, #1)...

Romance reads across genres with childfree characters/storylines. This shows up in different ways. Its either a given, not a part of the plot or a conclusion. That said, it doesn't necessarily mean there aren't any child characters in the story. If you need details I'll dig into my memory to verify. I'm open to recs, but I want to be really clear about the nature of their childfree status, so any explanation you can provide would be great.

Romances where the FMC has been victim of SA and is now healing and learning how to trust again or is assaulted 🍇 in the book itself and the after is part of the plot as well.

FMC that has gone through it and is scared, vulnerable, painfully shy. Books with PTSD representation and a fair amount of trauma healing.

Books that (if you have functioning tear ducts) leave you crying. Stories that feel hopeless and dark.
