I really liked Asking for It and Begging for It by Lilah Pace. It was such an interesting take on how both people dealt with their individual trauma that brought them together but also delved into the psychological aspects of them realizing they couldnāt sustain a relationship in just those trauma responses in a fiction story of course.
This is actually 1 of 2 on this list that I have not read yet. I've heard very good things about it and the psychological aspect is one of them that has me really wanting to read it ^^.
Romances that are sweet and focus on the healing; ā The Deal ā Rock Hard ā Lie to Me ā Lola and the Millionaires ā Confession Duet (the first is very sweet, the second book has a very different tone though.) ā Swallow Your Pride (BDSM heavy) ā The Brightest Light of Sunshine (age-gap) ā Breakaway (mostly focuses on the healing scenes, the romance wasn't my personal favorite)
Romance that is sweet but the story is dark; ā Still Beating (very graphic) ā Long Shot (extremely graphic on page scenes) ā Salvation ā Torn ā Jagged Lies (story is dark and the memory on page, but the romance is on the sweeter side) ā Asking for It (tbr book but my research says dark but sweet.) ā Twisted Emotions (even though the circumstances of the romance are dark I und it quite sweet.) ā The Scent of Us (world is on the darker side, but the romance is incredibly sweet)
Romances that are darker in themselves and have a graphic on-page scene; ā Sea of Ruin (romance also skates the line) ā Dark Notes ā Knotted (very graphic) ā Booted ā The Annihilator and The Emperor (dark as a whole but somehow also kinda sweet?) ā Did They Break you (This one is incredibly dark as a whole) ā Hunting Adeline (romance also skates the line, very dark, very graphic) ā Mindf*ck (tbr book for me but my research says graphic and dark)

Honorable mentions where the mmc still helps the fmc with getting good sexual experiences; ā The Sex Surrogate by Jessica Gadziala (fmc didn't have a great first time, combined with her mental health struggles she now has severe anxiety/panic attacks for any physical intimacy, sweet). ā Breakaway by Grace Riley (ex did something really bad after their first time, she is on anxiety meds and hasn't been intimate with anyone, he helps her with a list and her trauma, sweet). ā Not in Love by Ali Hazelwood (fmc does not enjoy penetrative sex and avoids it, mmc is understanding and they experiment without p in v for a long time, sweet). ā Sovereign by Raya Morris Edwards (fmc comes out of an abusive situation, mmc is morally grey, romance is on the dark side, but he helps her experience pleasure/enjoy sex, bdsm heavy)
