The Curio Cabinet: The Symbolic, Strange & Surreal
Not all collections hold things you can touch. This one holds worlds that breathe, selves that dissolve, and realities that refuse to hold their shape. These are the fictions that live on the edge of what language can contain - and sometimes just beyond. Admission is free, through entry requires a signed waiver: the curator cannot be held responsible for any transformations that occur upon your exit. We welcome specimen recommendations!

black cat crossing
it may be months away from halloween but itโs never too early to show love and support for the often over-stigmatized black cat! these books, as you might have guessed, all include at least one black cat or are about black cats :)

dreams, doubles, and david lynch
โlynchianโ is an over-prescribed pill, so iโm not going to assign such a label to any of these books. still, this selection reflects works that are in some way evocative of the work of master artist and filmmaker david lynch.

magical realism: the classics & niche
my favorite genre! the grit of the everyday alongside the possibility for something more, a veil thinning, serendipity bending reality to its whimsy and beauty. this is a smaller list due the brittle nature of the genre. it's up to interpretation, but i like my magical realism on the more realistic side with very slight tints of magic/fantastical elements. recommendations are welcome!

Lovable/chaotic Non-human Characters
This is just something I'm working on because I've decided this is my favorite trope. I'll be collecting here, so don't expect it to be amazing right now ๐ . These are characters that stray far from being human but still contain an edge of humanity that makes me feel okay to be delightfully weird. Suggestions welcome!
