Ok first topic: Spoilers The implications of age in this series-
Ok so I was wondering if anyone else has thought about the aspect of the rosemyne and Wilfried romance and the rosemyne and Ferdinand romance story lines. On one hand on matches her physical age while the other matches her mental age. I feel like in a lot of these reincarnation stories this is always a conundrum. Our society says both storylines are wrong but would you agree with that opinion and damn those in this situation a loveless life or candon the age gap? Personally I think the mental age is important in this kind of situation. I feel more comfortable with her and Ferdinand versus her and Wilfried. How about you?
(spoiler) Oh this topic lol ngl first few volumes i was set in stone with Lutz. Then i heard a spoiler who she ends up with and i was kinda mad and buffled, and i was like i aint reading more lol. But then i continued cuz i love it so much and Ferdinand just kept getting better and i see why she would end up with him. Wilfred no. Just hated him so much im sorry 😂😭 any time he got better he doubled down, i was so annoyed and i can't see him more than just an annoying kid even if he a teen. And i just wanted Ferdinand and her to be together even if romantic or not i don't care.
(Spoiler) Yeah I totally get that. Personally I had a problem with lutz as a romance partner due to everyone saying they would be a good pair while both were really physically young, but she was in/near her 20s mentally. For the same reason I had a problem with the other potential males as well. When I found out Ferdinand was the end goal I was pleased. I had already read to the part 3 at this point and Ferdinand seemed like a good but unique choice.
Yeah i can understand that, i think with Lutz too i was thinking romance after they get older. Ferdinand knowing her mental age and interactions were good so i really came around to being obsessed with their dynamic
(spoilers ahead) Yeah it's really interesting with the age gap. I am more okay with it since the romance doesn't really start until they're both mentally and physically adult (in the context of that world). Like we never see Ferdinand attracted to her while she's physically a child. One thing that gives me pause is his transition from her guardian to her fiance. There's really a question of grooming involved. Ultimately I think I rule in favor of it not being an issue because they are both mentally adult and there's much less of a power imbalance than at first it appears. There's a lot of give and take between the pair and I feel like they're pretty equally matched given how they both try to protect each other and annoy/manipulate each other in turn. I really love them as a couple but I do acknowledge that doesn't erase the problems in their relationship. Frankly I'd never consider Wilfried. I considered both Lutz and Hildebrand but never Wilfried (despite his being her fiance. Like romance was completely off the table for the pair).
That is a good point. I remember him not falling until after he sees her grown up.
Yeah exactly! There was no romance until she grew up and got her body healthy, even if he did know she was an adult in her body. And i def understand people who don't like it that much cuz iwas one of them weirded out with the guardian stuff too but tehy def match each other, the intelligence, vibe, and just supporting each other made me love them 😭
Topic 2: Show versus Series versus Manga-
To start off all these mediums do an amazing job at telling this story. I personally love the OG novel due to,
A: complete and easy access. This is the only medium that can be said to be finished. Yes Miya is making a side series but it’s not the many people of this story.
B: I get SO MUCH MORE information with this medium. Side stories, character art, character thoughts. Everything.
I love the manga due to the art and easy storytelling medium. Its easier and sometimes more fun to read a manga compared to a novel. Con though is that this medium is in no way finished. Most things we can access (as an English speaker) is not correctly or completely translated.
Finally the Show: This holds a special place in my heart. I was first introduced to this series through the amazing show, so this will always be a medium I adore. That being said how do you all feel about the new season? I’m currently rewatching the series so that I can watch the lastest season. I’m already a little sad about the art change but hopefully the stories is still well done. Either way I hope they complete this series through the anime as well.
I started with manga, got too invested and patience ran out lol so went to light novels and im so happy i did, i love the extra infos and so many cute scenes that not in manga or anime😭 also its my first novel(and first ever Japanese media) i bought with my own money when i grew up so it holds special place in my heart ❤️ anime is kindaa 😂😅 i heard some ai stuff and i decided not to try, just watched s1 back then.
lol. TOTALLY GET THAT. I started with the anime, went to the manga and got really impatient and sad that it wasn’t completed. Then got really confused on how the manga was behind the anime in this story timeline. Realized where the original source came from and immediately devoured the books.
Currently, the only completed series that has Japanese origin I guess would be my completed series of Skip beat the manga. Although I wouldn’t mind getting the entire series of AoaB  in paper copy for my bookshelf. Currently, I just have a completed series in my Kindle. But now that I think about I kinda wanna get the full paper book series for my shelves….. hmmmmmmm 🤔  I also heard about the AI. Just to give you some more information just in case. One of the artists use AI during the theme song for the recent season. They produced the show and allowed a couple of people to watch it before it was too widely published. That led to a fan, realizing that someone had put AI in the theme song and so they apologized and changed that and stopped it from being published with the ai.
Wait skip beat is finished?? I also only have the ebook version of AoaB 😭 but love it with all my heart ❤️

After seeing the last season, it reminds me of a sad thing that comes about with these adaptations. The little lessons/problems that are easily shown in a longer more detailed medium are completely gone with a show. This changes messages throughout the story or misses crucial information later down the line. Makes me a little sad/disappointed. That being said I do love the show including the new season!

I understand where you’re coming from. Sadly, I cannot blur an already published post. Though with that being said, I wasn’t actually talking about any future romances that could potentially happen. The character “rosemyne ” doesn’t get introduced until later and soon after she is introduced, marriage talks with her and other potential people are VERY soon discussed, I was just focusing on the two male characters that those discuss discussions focused 😉. I wasn’t really talking about any end relationships. I was mostly talking about the implications that the age gap.
But again I understand where you’re coming from. Currently, I’ve only invited people that seem to like and has finished this series. So I think I’ll keep it up for a little while longer. Just to see the discussions cause I do wanna know other peoples answers.
I just say how the others did things with the word “spoilers” so I just added that. I feel dumb for not thinking it but in my defense I was just about to head to bed! 😆
You know I was just thinking. It would be kinda cool if the creators used myne’s hair style to show not only her difference to others but also her age disparity. Like in this new world children have a down hair do, adults have an up hair do. So the fact that myne, who is both an adult and a child, has a hair do that’s half adult and half child.
What is your favorite part? As in what stage of the series are you always excited to get to?
Personally I love part 3. There’s a lot going on and you see rosemyne really come into herself and new role. You see her dynamic change and the strength that she gains from her role allows her to do many fun things that we get to see. While watching the lastest season some of my favorite moments aren’t there which I understand but it makes me want to reread part 3 so that I can see those moments again. Though I’m hopeful and excited about part 4 and 5 being in the anime. That’s when a lot more visually appealing things happen, magic, battles, ceremonies, etc. those will be awesome to see on screen.
(spoilers) Oooh i don't remember which volume or part so im gonna just list my fav scenes overall trying to separate into parts📃😅😂
- Love the early Lutz and Benno parts with Mark too. I just love their dynamic so much 😭 i always go back to those. So i think that's early in.
- Then the restaurant scenes, i get hungry sure but also i love how they try new stuff!
- Then the part with academy first few vols and the guardians are liek lets go have a talk each time😂😂 And lastly probably the last part, when Ferdinand and her are united again and fighting, scheming together at the end😭
