First things first Tropes Fake dating (obviously) Misunderstood (fixed before 40%) Only one bed Girl boss/artist boy With that being said the overall story is fine. Not to excited for me but I definitely liked the characters. Everything has a nice little bow by the end. The author pushed the title appearances hard towards the end, even though it didn’t have real foundation or context, but wasn’t to bad. Spicy scenes are open door but not really explicit. More TV14 movie scene rather than GOT scene.

    Here For The Cake

    Here For The Cake

    Jennifer Millikin

A spicy, sassy, and swoony fake dating romantic comedy from Amazon Charts bestselling author Jennifer Millikin. A week on an island sounds like the stuff of beach dreams, but for Paisley Royce, it's a nightmare. Her little sister is marrying her ex-college sweetheart, and Paisley is serving as maid of honor. To add insult to injury, nobody will let Paisley forget she’s single. Bachelorette weekend changes everything when she runs into her old college frenemy, Klein Madigan. Klein is still intelligent and funny, and somehow time has only made him more attractive. Paisley is Klein’s ‘one that got away’, not that he’d ever admit it to her. A colossal misstep (and one terrible kiss) in college sealed their fate. Or so they thought. Klein’s an aspiring author allergic to social media. Paisley owns a digital marketing agency. A brilliant plan is hatched: A trip across the country for a week of faking out her family in exchange for her firm marketing his work. One hastily scrawled and signed contract on a bar napkin later, Paisley and Klein embark on a journey of tension, only one bed, and fake dating shenanigans. Paisley’s goal is to survive the week. Klein’s plan is to enjoy the sun, sand, and wedding cake. But then there’s a scorching kiss to make up for that bad one in college. And another kiss in a lighthouse during a thunderstorm. A gentle palm on Paisley’s lower back, and a reassuring hand squeeze under the table. Everyone is convinced Klein and Paisley are the real deal, but as the week wears on, they begin to wonder if the only people they’re kidding are themselves.

If you like the first book of ice planet Barbarian this is that but different. I recommend it. I enjoyed it. I was CREEPED out at the beginning due to the connection to things like the alien movies. How scared the MFC was really clouded me knowing it was a romance. Which means it was well written. It was given suspense music sometimes but as always it didn’t turn out to be anything.

This was interesting. I had been interested in the book concept for awhile due to the media the author produced. The characters were well developed. The story not so much. I would have preferred a focus on the main character dynamics rather than bringing in other problems. The focus was on the main character for most of the book but due to the MMC’s background, the resolution towards the end felt rushed. Overall the reading experience was enjoyable. The smut was well written. The characters didn’t slowly degrade the further you got. There was great comedic parts sprinkled throughout it as well. I definitely recommend this to readers that love dark romances and that don’t like annoying characters. Side note #third-act-breakup (not bad, outside authority)

    Love At First Fright

    Love At First Fright

    Nadia El-Fassi

She can see ghosts. He’s haunted by his past. Together they will discover a love that is supernatural. In this cosy and spicy paranormal romance, a successful horror author whose novel is being adapted into a movie clashes with the actor cast as the male lead, all in a spooky mansion filled with ghosts, from the author of Best Hex Ever Rosemary Shaw’s ability to see the dead has never scared her. In fact, it’s inspired most of her horror novels, the most successful of which is being adapted into a movie, set in a beautiful manor house in the English countryside. A house that old, well, it’s no surprise there’s ghosts. But ghosts are something Rosemary can handle, she’s not so sure how to deal with her infuriatingly handsome leading man, who is all wrong for the role. Ellis Finch is a Hollywood heartthrob with a secret. He’s tired of playing the action movie hero and would much rather be gardening with his dog Fig. Starring in a historical horror movie might be just the ticket for his new image, until he finds out that the author tried to get him kicked off the show. Amidst filming for the movie and the chemistry-filled feuding between Rosemary and Ellis, Hallowvale manor comes alive, literally. Trying to balance the mayhem of her writing deadlines, an adorable ghostly dog and a pair of Regency-era women who are definitely nothing more than friends, Rosemary is at risk of telling Ellis her secret, or worse – falling for him.

As Annabeth and her friends Jason, Piper, and Leo fly in on the Argo II, she can't blame the Roman demigods for thinking the ship is a Greek weapon. With its steaming bronze dragon figurehead, Leo's fantastical creation doesn't appear friendly. Annabeth hopes that the sight of their praetor Jason on deck will reassure the Romans that the visitors from Camp Half-Blood are coming in peace. And that's only one of her worries. In her pocket, Annabeth carries a gift from her mother that came with an unnerving command: Follow the Mark of Athena. Avenge me. Annabeth already feels weighed down by the prophecy that will send seven demigods on a quest to find—and close—the Doors of Death. What more does Athena want from her? Annabeth's biggest fear, though, is that Percy might have changed. What if he's now attached to Roman ways? Does he still need his old friends? As the daughter of the goddess of war and wisdom, Annabeth knows she was born to be a leader—but never again does she want to be without Seaweed Brain by her side Narrated by four different demigods, The Mark of Athena is an unforgettable journey across land and sea to Rome, where important discoveries, surprising sacrifices, and unspeakable horrors await. The Son of Neptune

    The Son of Neptune

    Rick Riordan

PERCY IS CONFUSED. When he awoke from his long sleep, he didn't know much more than his name. His brain fuzz is lingering, even after the wolf Lupa told him he is a demigod and trained him to fight with the pen/sword in his pocket. Somehow Percy manages to make it to a camp for half-bloods, despite the fact that he has to keep killing monsters along the way. But the camp doesn't ring any bells with him. The only thing he can recall from his past is another name: Annabeth. HAZEL IS SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD. When she lived before, she didn't do a very good job of it. Sure, she was an obedient daughter, even when her mother was possessed by greed. But that was the problem—when the Voice took over her mother and commanded Hazel to use her "gift" for an evil purpose, Hazel couldn't say no. Now because of her mistake, the future of the world is at risk. Hazel wishes she could ride away from it all on the stallion that appears in her dreams.FRANK IS A KLUTZ. His grandmother says he is descended from heroes and can be anything he wants to be, but he doesn't see it. He doesn't even know who his father is. He keeps hoping Apollo will claim him, because the only thing he is good at is archery—although not good enough to win camp war games. His bulky physique makes him feel like an ox, especially in front of Hazel, his closest friend at camp. He trusts her completely—enough to share the secret he holds close to his heart.Beginning at the "other" camp for half-bloods and extending as far as the land beyond the gods, this breathtaking second installment of the Heroes of Olympus series introduces new demigods, revives fearsome monsters, and features other remarkable creatures, all destined to play a part in the Prophesy of Seven.
