Some books have podcasts or to go with it, you can listen alongside the book. (Dracula)
Read abridged versions of the books (Frankenstein)
The Hardcore literature club on yt has some great tips
Start with younger classics and work your way backwards.
Look at the original genre of the book.
For Shakespeare, the website No Fear Shakespeare makes the text a more modernized version
Sometimes having background information on the author and the time can help you understand certain parts of the book more
