Isang Bagsak: FAHM reads
Non-fic, poetry, historical fiction, and children’s books to celebrate Filipino-American History Month (October) and learn more about the major contributions and experiences of Filipinos in the United States!
The saying “isang bagsak” literally translates to “one fall” in Tagalog— when one falls, we all fall with them. It is a solidarity chant popularized by anti-martial law activists in the PH and Manongs of the Farmworker Movement in the US.

Hi! I did listen to that audiobook and I liked how it spanned several generations, does mention historical contributions, and journeys from PH to US. You’re right maybe not 100% fit since a big chunk (that I can remember) of the history aspect is based in PH, but I’m gonna add it as an example of Fil-Am migrant family life! Thank you!!
