This is an attempt to curate a directory of books that center queer, disabled and BIPOC experiences within the text itself by authors sharing the same experiences. It can include both fiction and non-fiction where these identities are meaningfully present and central to the narrative, themes, or subject matter. The goal is to create a space for discovering books that reflect all 3, Queer, Disabled & BIPOC.

Thank you for this list! đ If you're open to suggestions, a few authors come to mind whose books would cover all three representations of queer, disabled & bipoc.
⢠Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha, specifically Bodymap for poetry and The Future is Disabled for non-fic.
⢠Yaffa, specifically Be Better Broken for non-fic.
⢠Alice Wong, maybe Disability Visibility or Year of the Tiger for memoir. Thanks for considering!
I loved bodymap will definitely add that! I am cr reading disability visibility, so far haven't come accross one with all 3. If there's a specific one can u tell me which? :) Will check out the other stuff ty for the suggestions!
The authors I suggested are all queer disabled bipocs and theirs books address and represent navigating this specific intersection of identities. For transparency, I've read the titles I suggested above except for Alice Wong's (on my TBR but I've read some of the essays that appear in her books).
Hope that helps, and hope you're enjoying the read, I'm excited to dive into that one when I can.
I just finished Disability Visability, was definitely worth the read. The rest i will add once I have read them as well. :)
Exactly the kind of list I was looking for! I recommend Who is Wellness For? by Fariha RĂłisĂn.
Will definitely check it out!
Love this list!đ¤Šâ¤ď¸
This was actually a directory i started on gr and storygraph so thought to add it here as well!
Oooo yes thatâs perfect
PET would fit this list!
I shall add it. I did read it many yrs ago but cldnt remember, does it have all 3 with the same main character?
Yes! The main character is trans and autistic, not physically disabled. There are many disabled secondary characters
