saves this list while shaking in my boots 🫨🫡
It's okay, I'll hold your hand 🫴🏽
oooo this is a fun vibe!
I'm not sure if it exactly fits, but the angels in The City in Glass (Nghi Vo) might suit this list?
Ooo, I haven't read that one yet. What are the angels like? I love Nghi Vo!
there's one fallen angel character who carries through the whole book who is maybe not quite monstrous or visionary, more sad lol. but in the beginning angels bring the inciting destruction that kicks open the story.
I'd recommend the "Welcome to Night Vale" novel! The presentation of the angels (the Ericas) isn't exactly spooky but it is eldritch, as far as I remember :)
Added! I still haven't listened to the podcast but I lowkey want to read the book.
There’s a welcome to night vale novel?!?! I used to listen to that podcast years ago omg definitely gonna have to add to my tbr
yes and it's a ton of fun!
Smashed that save button so quick
And the Mountains Melt Like Wax by Tyler Battaglia! And I'd argue that Kyle Wakefield's The Church of the Mountain of Flesh also fits here!!
OH and Pet and Bitter by Akwaeke Emezi!
I knew I was forgetting some obvious ones 🙄 Thank you! 🖤
suggestions welcome!
