We Call Them Leviathan. Chapter 1: The Lure

They are beautiful, and that is their sharpest tooth. These are the sirens of the coral reefs and the silk-skinned selkies of the northern rocks. They promise a life without breath, a kingdom of pearls and moonlight. But the sea never gives without taking, and their songs are simply the dinner bell for the deep. We call them... the Lure.

We mapped the continents and thought we knew the world. We forgot that the land is just a series of islands floating on a dark, hungry mirror. Below the hull, in the crushing silence where the sun cannot reach, dwell the true masters of the planet. They are the singers of the salt-songs, the crushers of ships, and the ancient, tentacled nightmares of the abyss. We call them... Leviathans.
