This was a deeply engaging read that excelled in both its narrative structure and its emotional resonance.

The core strength of the book lies in its exceptional character development and a plotline that does more than just tell a story—it forces you to pause and ask yourself, "What would I do in these circumstances?"

What truly sets this book apart is the incredible diversity of its viewpoints. By weaving together the perspectives of an older man, a young child, a mother, a husband, the author provides a 360-degree view of the human experience. It was fascinating to see the world through eyes shaped by decades of wisdom alongside those seeing it with the innocence of a child.

For a reader like me who isn't deeply familiar with Judaism, I found the author’s approach to faith very refreshing. The cultural and religious practices were explained enough to provide essential context for the plot, but it never felt pedantic or slowed down the momentum.

The novel is thoughtfully organized into three parts, and while managing so many different voices could have easily become chaotic, the execution here was seamless. Each chapter carried the story forward effortlessly, allowing me to "walk a mile" in each character's shoes and build a genuine, empathetic connection to their motives and struggles.

If you appreciate a beautifully structured exploration of family, faith, and the difficult choices that define us, I highly recommend adding this to your list.

When I started this book, I was initially disappointed by a specific plot choice regarding a character's fate. I’ve always felt that when an author reverses a major loss, it risks cheapening the emotional weight of the story—much like the "it was all a dream" trope. It made me worry that future risks in the storyline wouldn't feel as meaningful. However, the book managed to redeem itself by the end. The execution improved enough to win me back, and I’m actually looking forward to seeing where the next installment in the series goes.
