locked room murder mysteries

i'm on an absolute murder mystery KICK at the moment. having watched the new knives out twice already (mild spoilers ahead) i've been thinking about the subgenre of locked room murder mysteries and decided to compile a list of them!

definition: a locked room mystery involves a seemingly "impossible crime". in these, the murder is committed under circumstances where it appears impossible for the killer to enter and leave the room undetected. and yet it IS possible!

Great list! You can also add The Sign of Four by Conan Doyle, One of Us Is Lying by Karen McManus, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie, Dead Famous by Ben Elton and The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins.

omg love this! you've got heaps

I love the decagon house murders!! There's a manga series for it too and I think it shows the group's friendship a lot better than the translated book. The manga was made relatively recently compared to the book, so they removed some of the not-so-pleasant descriptions of women.

You can also add the devils flute murders by Seishi Yokomizo if you like.
