There was a middle grade book I felt seen with. I had read only a little of it, and the main character is 1/16. I had never seen such a thing before. Often, I look at my eyes, and see that they have been passed down through generations. I have never been to a reservation. I read my history. It feels as though something has been taken away before I even got a chance to have it. Either way I don't have much to go on. Identity issues here. The list is very nice.

you worded that so perfectly ♥️ what happened to our peoples is deeply unfair. i try to keep in mind that there are so many magical moments of connection and reconnection and it’s special that reading gets to be one of those catalysts. i have another list where i keep the books that speak to me down to my bones. if you’ve never explored some of the authors included there i highly recommend checking some out!
