Welcome to the Maritimes

Books about the Maritime Provinces (NB, NS, PEI) written by (mostly) Canadian authors.

Howard Norman is my personal exception because he wrote a book about Parrsboro and lived in Canada.

As somebody who has Cape Breton on my travel bucket list - thank you for this!

Cape Breton is gorgeous!

I’m so glad!! Cape Breton is beautiful all year but nothing beats the Cabot trail during peak fall 😊

I would love to visit in the summer someday! (The goal is to learn more about Cape Breton fiddling, up close and personal. But I would love to explore the outdoors, too.)

And I have no clue about the ice rinks in Cape Breton, but skating in Canada has been a dream of mine for ages.

The Gaelic College would be worth checking out! They do summer camps with that stuff for kids, families and adults. There is LOTS of skating in the winter too, on every lake that freezes and some feels like shovelling šŸ˜†

Cool!

I'm from PEI and I really appreciate the Emily of New Moon mention. Everyone hears/talks about Anne and loves Anne, but I always thought EONM was way better!

2

It is better!! (Or that’s what I remember thinking at age 14 the last time I read both books together šŸ˜†)

I am so excited to dive into these!
