I read the synopsis for Eileen and it does take place around Christmas time but I don't think the weather plays a part in it. Same with The Only Good Indians. I started that book a while ago - they did kill the elk in the winter time but I stopped reading it after more than one dog was killed, lol. Did the rest of the book take place in winter time? I'm definitely TBR-ing Eileen, though!
For sure both takes place in a snowy setting, but I am not sure if I can judge whether it plays a part in the story. Beginning and climax of The Only Good Indians take place during similar snowy weather, but yes, poor poor doggos š
