Would you recommend any of these for someone who has a lot of close personal relationships with people who have been diagnosed with bipolar to help understand them better?
Yes! a lot of the memoirs go into manic and depressive episodes and how it affects them/what they feel during. I think they might be beneficial to understand someone more. Most of these are people with bipolar 1 so they might not be as relatable to someone with bipolar 2. Of course, check trigger warnings as a lot of these deal with self harm and suicide. I would maybe start with Marbles by Ellen Forney. Funny and relatable
Thank you!!
Would love suggestions! stay strong my bipolar baddies
I believe Keezy Young's Sunflowers is about having bipolar disorder. Its an autobiographical graphic novel.
Havent read this one yet either, but Until The Clock Strikes Midnight by Alechia Dow also has bipolar rep
Feelings seem to be mixed (it’s a newer release) so far - as the way it’s included in this fantasy world seemed to feel too modern/real to some readers.
For fiction, i was recommended The Lightness of Hands by Jeff Garvin a long while back. Still havent read it yet, but to date i still think it might be the only bipolar rep in my tbr?
Oh my god and bipolar 2 rep?? thank you!!
