  • Best Strategy for Organizing Physical Books?

How do you organize your physical book collection:

    1. Alphabetically, by author's name
    2. Genre and/or series
    3. Spine color
    4. Vibe/themes
    5. Combination of above (what combo?)
    6. Other

As I begin to build my own physical collection I'm weighing the pros and cons of how to organize them. What works for you?

    😨

This was a story about anxiety and gay queens... nice lol

I do like my graphic novels to feel a bit more in-the-moment, but this was a bit more plot focused. There were some small details that ran kind of fast that made it a little difficult to understand exactly what was happening in certain scenes. Overall it was a fun short read though. Good if you like adventure.

  • Less than Crazy: Living Fully with Bipolar II

    😬

Let's just dive into the pros and cons shall we?

    Pros:

    • resources and tools throughout the book and after the epilogue.
    • helps bring understanding to the illness aspect of bipolar disorder in a physical sense, and the diverse expressions of it
    • helpful for a novice who is trying to understand the nuance between Bipolar I and Bipolar II

    Cons:

    • this book is from 2008. I ended up looking up if information in the text a few times, just to see if the research behind some points had updated in the past 20~ years. It would be nice if there was a revised edition.
    • the emphasis against the "really crazy" diagnosises is... I mean I get it, but I hope in the future works like this will be more inclusive.
    • parts of this just felt like an ad for lithium, which made me a bit skeptical.
    • the alternatives to medicine often feel like they're being presented to be pissed on instead of seriously considered.
